The Joburg Crisis Alliance convenes its 9th Summit

The JCA convened its 9th Summit on 28 March 2026 at Markspark, Emmarentia, bringing together civil society organisations, community leaders, and residents at a critical moment for the City of Johannesburg. The Summit was convened under the theme, “Elections 2026 – What’s At Stake?” Journalist and political analyst Ferial Haffajee moderated a panel discussion that included Nomsa Mbatha of the Yeoville & Bellevue Civic Movement, Business Unity South Africa CEO Khulekani Mathe and JCA SteerCom member, Dave Lewis. The Summit received presentations on the JCA 2026 Programme of Action, The ongoing Water and the Metro Centre crises. A positive note was struck with progress reports on the FixLocal initiative and Jozi-My-Jozi’s ‘Main Street’ event.
