Young Joburgers choose to establish a JCA Youth Forum

On 14 March 2026, the JCA convened young people (16-35)  to share their experiences of living in the city of Johannesburg. The discussion included what could be better in the city, and more importantly, what they would do to improve matters in the city. The Joburg Crisis Alliance shared the story of the JCA since its establishment in 2023, and elements of its proposed Programme for 2026. The participation, or lack thereof,  of young people in the activities of the JCA prompted a discussion of the value of establishing a JCA Youth Forum. The meeting unanimously supported the idea and all attendees undertook to recruit interested youth to the JCA Youth Forum.
