Joburg Crisis Alliance to Host 7th Summit Amid Ongoing Water Crisis
Joburg Crisis Alliance Hosts Summit-7
The Joburg Crisis Alliance will hold its 7th Summit on 30 August 2025, focusing on the city’s deepening water crisis, community-led solutions, and updates from the Presidential Johannesburg Working Group.
The Joburg Crisis Alliance (JCA) will host its 7th Summit on Saturday, 30 August 2025, bringing together residents, civil society, and stakeholders to address Johannesburg’s mounting challenges.
A key focus will be the city’s worsening water crisis, with residents facing frequent outages despite ongoing engagement with national and local water authorities. The Joburg Water Forum will present a status update on water security and quality, while Joburg Water has been invited to respond. Recent protests in Coronationville underscore the urgency of the issue.
The Summit will also provide an update on the JCA’s role in the Presidential Johannesburg Working Group, established earlier this year by President Ramaphosa, and will spotlight grassroots initiatives by resident associations, community forums, and businesses working to "Save Joburg."
📍Venue: Nando's Central Kitchen, 10a Victoria Rd, Lorentzville
🗓️Date & Time: Saturday, 30 August 2025, 09h00 – 13h00
